BFWG is a membership organisation with both independent members and members in local associations. Members have degrees or other equivalent qualifications but come from all nationalities, disciplines and work in all professions – or in none. See the Join BFWG menu for more information. BFWG has been active since 1907 promoting women’s opportunities in education and public life fostering local, national and international friendship improving the lives of women and girls worldwide. BFWG works through local associations, regional groups, the national Federation and internationally through the International Federation of University Women (IFUW) and University Women of Europe (UWE).
